What the CCDC Inmate Record Can Tell You

The live record is more useful when you know what each field means. It is a custody record, not a final judgment of guilt.

Common Clark County inmate-search fields
Field What to check
Inmate ID CCDC identifier useful for deposits, communication and staff inquiries.
Arrest date Helps distinguish people with similar names and confirms when custody began.
Case number Use it to move from the jail record to the related court matter.
Charge The charge currently associated with the custody record; it may later change in court.
Status Shows whether the listed matter remains active or has another recorded status.
Detainer May indicate another hold that could affect release even when bail exists on a local case.
Cash bail Review the amount, then verify the correct court/payment procedure before paying.
Housing Current housing information may help explain facility placement or visitation availability.
Scheduled court data Where shown, review the department, action, date and time for the next listed event.
Do not treat the charge description as a conviction.

Clark County warns that charges can change through hearings, plea negotiations or trial. Release dates and custody information can also change.

You Found the Inmate. Do These Things Next

Finding the name solves only the first part of the problem. Save the important identifiers and move through the tasks that affect release, court and communication.

1 · Save Record the inmate ID

Also save the arrest date and case number if shown.

2 · Release Check bail and detainers

A displayed bail amount does not always mean immediate release is possible.

3 · Court Open the case record

Use the court system for hearings, filings and later case activity.

4 · Visit Register before scheduling

Social visits require visitor registration and advance scheduling.

5 · Contact Set up phone services

Family and friends use the jail’s contracted communication system.

6 · Support Use the correct trust account

TouchPay deposits require CCDC’s facility number and inmate identifiers.

How CCDC Custody Works After Booking

Each person booked into CCDC or the North Valley Complex receives an Inmate ID. The current inmate handbook tells inmates to memorize it because it is used throughout detention services.

Booked
Inmate ID assigned
Bond / court review
Local custody
Release or transfer

A person can remain in custody until bond is posted, release on recognizance is ordered, the case is resolved by a judge, or the sentence ends.

Sentence length matters: the current LVMPD handbook says a sentence of one year or less is served at CCDC/NVC. A sentence longer than one year normally leads to Nevada Department of Corrections transfer after unresolved local charges are cleared.
